Fresh air? Crunchy leaves? Big smiles? Little giggles? New York, you’ve got this autumn thing down! Some photos below (sorry – there are a lot, I can’t help it!). I gave everyone a proper scrub down before we came back inside our apartment, but the amount of leaves inside our pockets, stuck inside our coats was crazy. Autumn, you win.
A couple of weeks ago we spent a few days of peace (well, as peaceful as you can get when travelling with a toddler and a baby) and rock & roll in Woodstock, where the music festival famously didn’t take place. The legend says the original Woodstock Festival’s organisers wanted to plan their concert there; however, the town turned down their permit, and the “Woodstock” Festival was actually held almost 60 miles away in the town of Bethel. I feel […]
Trying to play “catch up” with my blog right now and wanted to share some photos from last weekend at Governors Island. Governors Island is only a quick ferry ride away from Brooklyn and it’s a great destination for kids. You can rent bikes (even tandem or 6-seater surrey bikes!) to explore the island on or ride down the longest slide in NYC at 57 feet at The Hills play area. The island offers some of the best views of […]
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a over a month now since August joined our family. It went by so fast, this first month of his life here with us. I knew it would, it happened that way with Victor too, but somehow, it was extra fast this time. If I could hit the pause button, well I’d be hitting that button all day long. There is something about that newborn smell, the quivering chin when they are hungry, […]

If you follow me along on Instagram you might have seen some balloons snaps from when we went to the Park Avenue Armory on Sunday to check out British Artist Martin Creed’s retrospective exhibition called “The Back Door”. We spent the majority of our time in the balloon room, because V could not get enough of it! Elsewhere in the exhibition, we encountered films of people vomiting, spitting yogurt and defecating, along an array of metronomes ticking at different speeds, and a […]
It feels so good to be back in New York. V & I have thoroughly enjoyed this weekend together back in the city. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a NYC colourful wall crawl!
Wait, there’s more NYC Polaroid love! GP and I have also been listening to Vampire Weekend’s new song, Step, since it came out a few days ago. I’m especially in love with the music video since – guess what?! – it’s all about New York City and we can’t wait to be back!
Our little Big Apple series now plunges into its final stretch. Thanks for following along! (And you can also read all our New York posts from the beginning here). Looking through these photos definitely validates my love for this fascinating city. It may get ridiculously freezing there when it’s cold, or so humid your face is falling off when it’s hot… It may have excessive amounts of rubbish and rats everywhere (Oh rats… I really hate rats), but this place […]
