A couple of weeks ago we spent a few days of peace (well, as peaceful as you can get when travelling with a toddler and a baby) and rock & roll in Woodstock, where the music festival famously didn’t take place. The legend says the original Woodstock Festival’s organisers wanted to plan their concert there; however, the town turned down their permit, and the “Woodstock” Festival was actually held almost 60 miles away in the town of Bethel. I feel […]
A couple weekends ago, the three of us got a little getaway, finally getting some much needed beach time. It was our first time to Montauk and it was so charming and pretty. The town has endless cafes, cute shops, flowers and fruit stands. We stayed right on the beach and hardly anyone was there. It was so quiet and relaxing. We don’t often get a chance to slow down our days, enjoy time as a family, be more present, listen to each other. […]
It feels so good to be back in New York. V & I have thoroughly enjoyed this weekend together back in the city. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a NYC colourful wall crawl!
Some long overdue photos from our trip to Bali in January. We went to Ubud for a week to celebrate the new year. Braving the humidity (and a nasty stomach bug) was well worth it, because it was swimming pool heaven for mister V and he couldn’t get enough of the monkeys in Ubud’s Monkey Forest. The Balinese are the most family-loving people, and in Balinese Hinduism, babies are even regarded as gods for the first months of their life. […]

It usually only takes me about a month or two since our last trip back home to start itching to visit again. Maybe all I can say is that today I really really really miss being with my family in Paris. Like really. (Sorry about the radio silence on the blog. I blame Instagram. I will try to upload some more photos from our trip soon enough. Not sure what you’d like to see but I’ll try to put up […]

Plastic flower lei in neon bright colours, tacky aloha shirts, all-you-can-eat buffets, coconut-shell bikini tops, motorized hip-shaking hula dolls… Waikiki is all that, and then some. But there are also good reasons why everyone’s there: the shopping’s great, there are some nice restaurants, and let’s face it, there are worse things to be doing in life than sipping a mai tai cockail while listing to lilting ukulele songs as the sun drops into the Pacific ocean… Hawaii’s cuisine: delicious Poke, […]

Thank you for indulging me as I shared our photos from our trip to Hawaii. Thanks for reading this blog of mine, too. Alright, a little video now… Music: ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole.

I failed at taking my camera out more often and these photos are mostly just from one day trip to Kailua-Kona on the east side (sunny side!) of Big Island…

After spending a couple of days in beautiful Maui, we landed in the small town of Hilo on Hawai’i island, aka ‘the Big Island’. It was raining… We knew it was the rainy season, but we didn’t expect so much rain. Bucketloads of rain, pouring down in torrents. Lightning and thunder rattling our bungalow. Severe flash flooding blocking the roads. Beside being one of the rainiest cities in the United States – if not THE rainiest – Hilo is also […]

After spending a few days in O’ahu’s North Shore, we took a short flight to Maui. Everything we did while we were on Maui was truly unforgettable… We went to the beach, ate some wonderful organic food in the lovely historic town of Paia, swam at the beach, snorkeled, did some yoga, walked on beach, drove the road to Hana, went to the beach, swam with giant green sea turtles, and did I mention, went to the beach.
