A couple of weeks ago we spent a few days of peace (well, as peaceful as you can get when travelling with a toddler and a baby) and rock & roll in Woodstock, where the music festival famously didn’t take place. The legend says the original Woodstock Festival’s organisers wanted to plan their concert there; however, the town turned down their permit, and the “Woodstock” Festival was actually held almost 60 miles away in the town of Bethel. I feel […]
After Martha’s Vineyard, we went to Boston for a day. We spent the afternoon following the Freedom Trail. Boston’s signature attraction is a 2.5-mile line of red paint or brick that passes by key locations significant to the history of the United States. Granary Burying Ground, established in 1660, where some of America’s most notable citizens rest. The Old State House is one of the oldest public buildings in the USA.
Martha’s Vineyard, a Massachusetts island just south of Cape Cod, is mostly famous for two things: Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws” was filmed there, and former heads of state have made this tiny slice of paradise their chosen summer retreat: first the Clintons, then the Obamas. It was our first time on the island, and while we didn’t meet any shark nor any current, former or future heads of state, it is the most magical place ever. We were only doing a quick trip […]
I already shared bits and pieces on Instagram a couple of weeks ago about our time in Massachusetts, but I finally got around to going through all the photos (brace yourselves, there are a lot!). Travelling with 1 month old baby and a toddler is not the easiest, but I wouldn’t trade the memories and experiences we’ve been able to create together while doing so for anything… A summer visit to New England isn’t complete without a lobster shack experience. […]
A couple weekends ago, the three of us got a little getaway, finally getting some much needed beach time. It was our first time to Montauk and it was so charming and pretty. The town has endless cafes, cute shops, flowers and fruit stands. We stayed right on the beach and hardly anyone was there. It was so quiet and relaxing. We don’t often get a chance to slow down our days, enjoy time as a family, be more present, listen to each other. […]
If you follow me along on Instagram you might have seen some balloons snaps from when we went to the Park Avenue Armory on Sunday to check out British Artist Martin Creed’s retrospective exhibition called “The Back Door”. We spent the majority of our time in the balloon room, because V could not get enough of it! Elsewhere in the exhibition, we encountered films of people vomiting, spitting yogurt and defecating, along an array of metronomes ticking at different speeds, and a […]
Some long overdue photos from our trip to Bali in January. We went to Ubud for a week to celebrate the new year. Braving the humidity (and a nasty stomach bug) was well worth it, because it was swimming pool heaven for mister V and he couldn’t get enough of the monkeys in Ubud’s Monkey Forest. The Balinese are the most family-loving people, and in Balinese Hinduism, babies are even regarded as gods for the first months of their life. […]

This is a loooong overdue post. You know how it goes. Baby and full-time at work, blah, blah. Ha! Ha! Anyway, we went to Seville for a long weekend sans-bébé in July and it was marvelous. Visiting Seville is like being in a time machine. It’s easy to get lost in its maze of tiny streets, little changed since medieval times. Naranjas! The climb to the top of La Giralda. Well worth the effort for the great views of the […]
It usually only takes me about a month or two since our last trip back home to start itching to visit again. Maybe all I can say is that today I really really really miss being with my family in Paris. Like really. (Sorry about the radio silence on the blog. I blame Instagram. I will try to upload some more photos from our trip soon enough. Not sure what you’d like to see but I’ll try to put up […]

Dearest little baby boy, May you grow up with a sense of curiosity about the world and the desire to explore all the beauty it holds. I hope your imagination takes you to places far and wide, and that, sometimes, you’ll let us come with you. I love you, Mama.
